The Urban Indian Health Institute (UIHI) recognizes evaluation as an Indigenous value and has created an Indigenous Evaluation framework that is inclusive of American Indians and Alaska Natives living in both tribal and urban settings. This training will highlight aspects of the framework while providing concrete examples of implementation. Native people have always used the tools of research and evaluation through the lens of culture and values. This workshop demonstrates how evaluation grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing empowers communities to tell stories of strength and resiliency.
